Mini Steps Grow To 50

After nearly a year, Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson lifted the ban on travel recently. Retired U.S. Probation Officer and former Criminal Justice Professor, Mr. Alton Taylor was excited! When asked why, he replied, “I love getting to meet face to face the Mini STEP grant participants. Also, I enjoy connecting with potential grantees -- sheriffs and police chiefs to serve them with funds for their safety equipment.” He recently started working with the Dumas and McGee Police Departments, Lonoke County Sheriff Office, and the newly established Arkansas City Police Department/Sheriff Office. The AHSO welcomes returning participant Little Rock Police Department. Mr. Taylor is known around the Arkansas Highway Safety Office for his persistence and strong-willed determination in gaining Mini STEP participants. In recent weeks, the AHSO Mini-STEPS Program participating agencies grew to fifty.
