Steps In Action

Arkansas Highway Safety Office (AHSO) grants are initiatives introduced by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHSTA) in 2014. NHTSA grants by AHSO awarded $3.9 million in federal grant monies for FY2022. The STEPS (Selective Traffic Enforcement Projects) grants address impaired and distracted driving, occupant protection and child passenger safety. Other state funded grants fund ASP new vehicles, the new Ped/Bike – Drivers Education programs administered by partners Arkansas Children’s Hospital, ARDOT and City of Little Rock, Arkansas. The focus of these grants is to effectively administer programs that improve highway safety through enforcement, enrollment and education. More STEPS In Action on the way!
