What Are Mini STEP Grants

Mini STEPS (Selective Traffic Enforcement Projects) are Law Enforcement Traffic Service Grants that provide financial assistance to Arkansas law enforcement agencies for equipment, technology, and overtime expenses during high-visibility traffic safety campaigns and/or mobilizations. The agencies agree to participate in enhanced enforcement of occupant protection, distracted and impaired driving laws. Three examples of these high priority National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) initiated programs include Click IT Or Ticket, Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over. Arkansas law enforcement agencies conduct patrols and deploy resources based on statewide data and crash analysis.

DRIVE SOBER OR GET PULLED OVER Mobilization and Social Norming Message

The consequences of driving drunk can be deadly, embarrassing, and expensive. Why risk your life, job, friends, or wallet on a drink? #DriveSober or Get Pulled Over.

It’s never okay to drink and drive. This #LaborDay, we’re partnering with @NHTSAgov to encourage everyone to make the safe choice this holiday – designate a sober driver, or call a ride-share or taxi to get you home safely. #DriveSober or Get Pulled Over.
